  2. There is a popular trick called hot ice which involves touching a chilled supersaturated solution of sodium acetate in water. The clear solution solidifies (crystallizes) when you touch it and feels hot to the touch because the process is exothermic. The end result looks like ice which is why it is given it's name.   6. its any hydrocarbon hydrate.  I've done it with propane.  I had a small propane leak in a very humid climate.  The leak poit will grow these water propane crystals that look like snow balls..  I took the snow and placed it in a safe area and lite it.  It sits there and you can see a very faint blue flame around the ball.  Then a puddle of water just forms slowly untill its all melted.
