Butler style service would range from someone making a  salad tableside for you, or if you are the butler wheeling out steaks to be chosen and cooked, or  desserts on a cart to be picked out by the customer .

Theres different types of ways to get served at a resteraunt or function. You'll run into them probley when you plan your wedding. I believe the butler style is when the wait person stay near his or her table instead of periodically checking in now and then.
