  1. an accurate answer to this question would take up several pages and no one would bother reading it anyway. you're best bet it to look it up on wiki or read a book.

but, if you want the really short and uneducated answer, capitalism operates around the laws of supply and demand under private ownership while communism is a process where all have common ownership of means of production/business

  2. Capitalism is the western standardized market, where people make their own choices about economic decisions such as buying, selling, and endorsing. Communism is the eastern standardized market, where people are told what to buy, what to sell, and what to trust. They are all also considered equal, where as in China, a Doctor and a Street Sweeper make the same money, in America they do not.

  3. Capitalism is the economic system in which the means of production are owned by private persons, and operated for profit[1] and where investments, distribution, income, production and pricing of goods and services are predominantly determined through the operation of a free market.[2] Capitalism is usually considered to involve the right of individuals and corporations to trade, incorporate, employ workers, and use money, in goods, services (including finance), labor and land. [2] By definition, production and distribution in a capitalist system are governed by the free market rather than state regulation,[3] though this does not exclude the state defining and enforcing the basic rules of the market[4] and may include the provision of a few basic public goods and infrastructure.[5] Classic unrestrained capitalism is currently confined to theory, as "all of the capitalistic societies of the West have mixed economies that temper capitalism" with interventionist government regulation and social programs.

Communism is a socioeconomic structure that promotes the establishment of an egalitarian, classless, stateless society based on common ownership of the means of production and property in general.[1][2][3] It is usually considered to be a branch of socialism, a broad group of social and political ideologies, which draws on the various political and intellectual movements with origins in the work of theorists of the Industrial Revolution and the French Revolution[4], although socialist historians say they are older.[who?][citation needed] Communism attempts to offer an alternative to the problems believed to be inherent with capitalist economies and the legacy of imperialism and nationalism. Communism states that the only way to solve these problems would be for the working class, or proletariat, to replace the wealthy bourgeoisie, which is currently the ruling class, in order to establish a peaceful, free society, without classes, or government.[2] The dominant forms of communism, such as Leninism, Stalinism, Maoism and Trotskyism are based on Marxism, but non-Marxist versions of communism (such as Christian communism and anarchist communism) also exist and are growing in importance since the fall of the Soviet Union.

  4. Capitalism is a system in which you are allowed to own property, own a business have the freedom to move about safely without any rules except common rules of law. The freedom to object or congregate for the purpose of disagreeing with the government.  You are a free person.

Communism is a system in which the prevailing Government owns all property,  you cannot own your own business nor your own home.  You are basically told where to live.  You have no freedom and no right to object without arrest.  You are controlled completely by the comunnistic system.  Those in high places in the communist regime own much and are very wealthy leaving others very poor.  You are in no way a free human being.

  5. capitalism is the united states for example.....we have a democratic goverment....the goverment does not have total controll or power of the americans

  7. capitalism is where people and businesses control trade and the market and people earn different amounts of money base on what they do (e.g. CEO vs worker) communism is where the gov't controls ALL business and trade and everybody gets paid the same amount of money no matter what they do.

  9. In laymens terms..Capitalists believe in every opportunity to make money and increase your wealth, Communists believe everyone should be of equal status, even if one person works harder than another.  Take from the rich and give to the poor.

Capitalists believe if you make money and work hard, you should be able to benefit from it.

Communists believe if you work hard and make lots of money, someone who DOESN'T work hard should benefit.

  10. Capitalism is an economic system that is driven by profit motive for the individuals who live and work in the capitalistic society.  Communism, like socialism, is a system in which the government owns all the assets and the citizens (workers) work for the state, not themselves.  As summarized by Karl Marx in The Communist Manifesto, "From each according to his means; to each according to his needs."

What we have now in our country is  Corporate socialism which is the government's bestowal of money grants, tax breaks, or other special favorable treatment on corporations or select corporations. Which is destroying free trade. It allows corporations to bail themselves out when they have done wrong or a bad job of running the businesses. We the American public end up paying for the miss management of these corporations!
