I've heard of the term before, but not really sure what it means. Is it when 2 or more people share a ride together?

  1. Carpooling is when a group of people who commute from their home to school or a place of work in the same area as each other get together and share the same car. Typically, drivers rotate so it works out that a carpool rider only has to use his/her car once or twice a week instead of every day.

The advantages of carpooling include saving gas by driving your car less, minimizing wear and tear on your car, reducing congestion on the roads, and being able to use HOV or carpool lanes in certain cities.

The disadvantage of course is privacy and convenience. If you have to make a special trip before or after work, it may be harder to do so if you're a passenger or are driving several others. However, most carpool groups work it out amongst themselves.

  2. carpool is the group of people

carpooling is the verb when you are in motion

  3. The term means that several people ride to the same destination in one car.  Usually it is a minimum of 2 people.

  4. When people take one car to go to work instead of (for example) 5 people taking 5 different cars to get to the same place. Less pollution and traffic and stuff

Yeah, i would consider it 2 or more. the carpool lane does.

  5. A carpool is something that is on the free-way and you can only use the carpool if there is 2 or more people in the car. Not if there is one person. Plus you go into carpooling if you want to drive faster if there's traffic or something. Hope that helps Diana!! Bye :)
