  3. Gas is getting low.  Its a natural recource, which means it comes from the earth.  So once we run out of it.  Its gone.  When the supply is low, the price goes up.  We are going to run out of gas whether we like it or not.

  6. It's nothing to do with the amount we may have left, it's a lot to do with investors speculating on the futures market. People with vast amounts of money gambling on what the price is going to be. It's called the free market. When there is a glut of oil they simply take their cash and invest it somewhere else. These people make vast sums of money through the commodities market, whilst you and I pay through the nose for our gas.
