What is causing random wake up in sleep mode ?

I tried unchecking "wake from sleep mode",I unplugged my mouse and keyboard,and turned of my Norton firewall,and disabled network adapters...nothing seems to stop it from waking from sleep mode,what else could I try?

If you have enough RAM, you can try hibernating instead.

Years ago, I was told by an expert, either switch your computer off or leave it on, but never put it in sleep mode. I did not ask an explanation, because first of all I took his word for it and secondly, why should I put my computer in sleep mode.  When I do not use it for a couple of hours I leave it on. My monitor switches off after 30 miniutes and when I go to bed I switch pc off.
