I have a black moor and it has no eyes( read my last question for info). And now its belly is red. Why could this be? I am thinking that he might be dying! Anything that I can do? But mind you, he eats fine, although his fecies(sp) was part red yesterday!

  1. A blood infection (septicemia) is the most likely cause.  This is indicative of poor water quality or other stressful factors that would allow the infection to set in.  Start with a water change, remove the activated carbon from the filter, and begin treating with Maracyn TC, Trisulfa, Triple Sulfa, Maracyn 2, Furan 2, Kanaplex, Terramycin, Metronidazole, Flagyl, Hexamit, or similar medications as soon as possible.  If using tetracycline, oxytetracycline, or minocycline based medications, keep the tank dark during treatment, as these drugs degrade with exposure to light.
