I have washed it thoroughly, dried it, and water spots still show up. The truck didn't have them when i first bought it a few weeks ago.

  1. because spots are already in your paint clear coat,  and you need to buff-it with rubing compuond and then whit caranuba wax, doit on the shade never on the sun and that care the problem.and if  you wash you truk yourself alway dryit.

  2. I have a Black car and this happens to me also. I was told it is from the minnerals in the water. After you wash and dry, wipe down with a slightly damp cotton cloth, should take care of it

  3. Try waxing your car and washing it completely before drying....

  4. you're not getting all the soap off.

  5. Its minerals or dust in the water left behind after the water evaporates.  Try a spot free rinse.  If you get desperate, try having the car detailed with a water repelling protective coating such as Zaino.  It may help the water bead up and run off more easily.

  6. im selling my black truck so i just went through this. wax it really good and when you wash it do it when its cool out because even if your not in the sun the heat still dries up the water. also i do a section at a time that way im not in a rush to dry the truck and i can take my time going over it with a damp towel if i need to.

  7. u need to wax it thoroughly and use a clay bar..

  8. a black truck the water has lime in it and when it dries it leaves spot you wont be able to avoid it. go to a car wash that has spot free rinse.

  9. It'[s possible the spots are caused by minerals in said water, when it dries all that remain are the minerals.

You might try a wax that prevents water-spots.
