  1. I would suggest shutting all the doors and windows turn on the AC for a bit then turn it off and use two of the fans in different rooms to circulate the cold air.

Or take a look into getting a more energy eff home like new windows or a coating on the exterior walls that also insulates the home.

  2. Fans by far are the cheapest to operate. Look at the power required for one fan and compare it with that required to run the AC.

  3. the four fans by far

  4. A Huge fan (5' diameter) only takes about 5 amps/hour to run. (it would take a little more to get it going) Your house AC takes 30-50 (depending on the size of the system and the size of the house)

A window unit will take 8-30 depending on the size.

Another way to think about it is that your house (and window) ac already runs 2 fans. One blows accross the inside coil and one blows accross the outside coil.   These two fans only consume 30% of the overall electricity used.

  5. i would say four fans also... of course a lot goes into this calculation

the speed at which the fans are running.  How often the ac runs.  If the fans are new and efficient, if the fans are clean, if the air filter for the ac is clean....

but i still say the four fans

  6. id have to say the fans because air conditioners need more care ,fans recycle the air
