What is cheaper and better, a flat panel LCD as a computer or TV?

i am going to replace my bulky PC monitor and want to get a LCD one that can double for TV and a computer . i am looking for a 22inch widescreen.

mostly the computer will be used however for games n such n school

Tvs are bigger, and have more inputs. With that said, a PC monitor is cheaper, and all of them are HD.

A flat panel LCD might be cheaper but the LCD TV is better. As long as you have a supported video card, the TV will give you a sharp image. The monitor might be cheaper but in order to watch TV on it you will need a TV Tuner card. The TV would be better but not cheap to buy

The refresh rate on a monitor is usually slower for a monitor.  That is why they are cheaper.  It usually only matters when a fast action scene appears, then you get pixalation or a ghost image.
