I'm off to France on a holiday and i'm just wondering what things are cheaper to buy over there, and the best types of places to get them, e.g. alcohol and perfume?

  1. French wine, French clothing, but, if you living in the US, the dollar is so low that most prices will seem very high.

  2. Washing powder.

    Wine,beer

    Olives,anchovies,capers.

Go & look in any supermarket the choices are endless.

If see a shop called NOZ go & look as it sells off items siezed by customs, tax man.You can get some really good bargins if the right stuff is in or if you are unlucky it will be rubbish.

If you see a Lidl go in & see what they have to offer then check the prices when you get home.

  3. Alcohol (French wine, beer, spirits), shampoo, weedkiller (partic Roundup), mole and rat killer, rolling tobacco, disposable razors and hookers.  Not necessarily in that order.

  4. Go in a shop and look?

  5. Since you say holiday, I assume you are from the UK...? sorry if not...but my British friends found everything to be cheaper here (minus British products like baked beans).

Alcohol you can buy in any supermarket. Perfume-you'll see perfume boutiques everywhere. Or Sephora something like that. I've compared prices and they are similar.

  6. Wine and good food!!  Clothes are pretty expensive.  The markets are fabulous for lots of bargains.  Look out for 'Champion' Supermarkets, this is where we do most of our shopping and they seem pretty reasonable.
