Main cause of child labour is poverty. For a poor family, earning is much more important that educating their children, otherwise they will die of starvation and lack of shelter. So the mother washes cloths, father pulls hand carts and their children work in local garage or tea stalls. You can't eradicate child labour if you don't eradicate poverty.

It's actually child labor. It's basically work exploitation of children...meaning that children are working in harsh conditions, which can consist of very low pay, long hours, and hazardous working conditions/environment. Because a child is constantly physically growing, it is not healthy for children to be exploited. However, many counties predominately India and China have been known to permit this; Westernized countries tend not to permit it/oppose it in their countries (yet not through trade agreements in other countries). In India, it is commonly known that children and even professionals are exploited. They do the same amount of work for a Western business (that a naive would do for a higher salary) and get paid less for it. It all works out for them because wages are much lower in the country...so basically they are better off... which is why this seems like an everending cycle.
