What is choking my vehicle?

Question

I have a 1997 GMC truck,v8.When I hit the gas pedal intending to accelerate,it seems to choke and stall.Won't move any faster but when i let loose the pedal,it picks slowly,but on a hill moves very slow.

check fuel pressure and filter
