  1. The star of Cinderella Man inspired a whole nation that was downtrodden to believe that a better life awaited them and not to give up. There was, indeed, a light at the end of the dark tunnel.  "In the nineteen thirties, the world was in an unprecedented economic crash that left millions unable to earn enough to feed their families. One man in such a dire circumstance was Jim Braddock (Russell Crowe). This film shows how the American public loves to cheer on the little guy. This was especially true during the dark days of the depression. People could live vicariously through the victories of such heroes; it gave them hope that one day they, too, would win."
