  1. It really has nothing to do with what I think - but I will say that I agree with the US government in that it is a legal issue. If you weren't born here or don't have the required paperwork, you're not welcome. We have to do everything we can to keep this country on its feet - and allowing illegals to earn but not pay isn't going to help.

  2. To be part of a country which I could be proud of. Like being an American, that is my pride and citizenship.

  3. i think if you are loyal and trustworthy you are a good citizen to the country but that i dont really know

  4. Citizenship means:  one who is natural born; who comes over from another country and takes the citizenship test and passes.  However, if one takes citizenship with another country that does not honor dual citizenship, they lose the citizenship of their natural born country.

  5. I'm a citizen of only one country and that is the good ole USA. I love this country. I'm proud to be an American, I'm proud of our servicemen and women, I'm proud of the struggles and hardships our forefathers had to bear to build this country into the greatness it once was and I pray it will be again. I'm proud I can only speak English the language of this country. If this weren't a great country the rest of the world wouldn't be trying to live here. We have our faults...we seem to like to giving everything we have away, continuously helping the underdog at our expense. After we give everything away we will be the underdog...who's going to help us? But, I will always be a proud American. That's what being a citizen means to me. Honor and loyalty and I thank God I was born here.

  6. I consider my American brothers and sisters - family.   If an army marched down the street of any of my neighbors, I most certainly would amongst the very first to bear arms against the invading army as I am quite sure our government would expect every CITIZEN to protect their country.

When you are just another illegal, or "resident" - you generally don't give a hoot and would stand back and wave at the invading army...

I feel a good citizen will recognize his/her debt to society (that made this country great BEFORE you got to it or was born) - to the neighborhood (for being good enough to live in, and to keep it good enough to live in) - and to the family.

A citizen feels "connected" to the land, will recognize that this country is not perfect, and will do what he/she can to improve it when the opportunity presents itself.

That pretty much sums it up for me.

  7. For me, one of my citizenships means my ties to the country where I grew up and lived for many years and where most of my family still lives.  My other citizenship means ties to the country where I live now and have grown to call my home.
