What is classed as receiving stolen goods?

My son in law has been wrongly accused by his employer of supplying materials for a reduced price and pocketing the cash. If the police were to become involved would the contractor who 'bought' the material be liable to investigation for knowingly receiving stolen goods?

  1. The contractor knew they were stolen goods,yes he would be investigated


  2. The offence of receiving stolen goods falls under the handling stolen goods laws.  Basically, (in this instance) if you buy something at a reduced rate, knowing thats it stolen, then you commit the offence.

  4. if they knew they were stolen, then yes that is recieving stolen property. i dont know if the law changes by state. but of course they could be investigated

  5. If the contractor is knowingly receiving stolen goods, Someone can't be wrongly accused of supllying them.

  6. If your son has been "wrongly" accused then the bloke who bought them has nothing to worry about does he?
