  1. i think its sorta like tempeture i guess

  2. the weather in some location averaged over some long period of time

  3. Weather can be experienced by looking out your window and seeing the current state of the atmosphere, but climate is something that is studied over many years, cycles, decades, centuries, or ages.

    For someone to say the climate has changed over my life time may be a bit naïve like Al Gore.

  4. Climate:

    1.The temperature, precipitation, winds etcetera charachteristic of a region.

    2.A region in reference to its characteristic weather.

    3. A prevailing trend or condition in human affairs.

    Source: Funk and Wagnalls Dictionary

  5. the average and variations of weather in a region over long periods of time.

  6. Weather - the descriptions describing temperature, precipitation, wind, cloud, etc at a specific point in time.

    Climate - the trend of weather over a long period of time.

    You look out the window, you see the weather (it's sunny, raining, snowing, windy, etc)  That is a prime example of weather.

    If you record the weather daily over a long period of time (say a life time or longer) and you compare the first 25 years with the second 25 years, and notice long term trends of the weather changing (e.g. over the past 25 years the temperature as risen an average of 5 degrees) would be a prime example of climate change.

    Weather = specific moment.

    Climate = the trend of weather over a long period of time.

    The theory of global warming states the climate is changing, and getting warmer.

    Hope it helps,

    cheers,

    Greg
