Cloud computing is the use of many networked computers to process and store information intsead of a desktop PC.

Cloud computing is a concept in which computing takes place across the internet.  The software and data are stored on servers in the cloud and is accessed across the network from client systems.  The idea of cloud computing has growing in popularity for about a decade or longer.  It is sometimes called Software as a Service.

A good example of cloud computing that you may be familiar with is Google Apps.  Google provides the software and stores the data and the user accesses it through a web browser.
