  2. Minimum age of 18. Instrument rating or limitations on certificate. Second class medical. Under Part 61, minimum 250 hours (less under Part 141/142). Knowledge test, practical test. Can fly for compensation or hire. Got my commercial-instrument at age 18 long time ago.

  3. There is a very great difference between a Commercial Pilot and an Airline Pilot.

A Commercial Pilot holds a Commercial Airman Certificate and is legally permitted to provide pilot services for hire.  A Commercial Certificate holder is not automatically qualified to be an airline flight deck crew member.

You can obtain a commercial certificate in most countries on your own with just a flight instructor at your local airport.  A formal "flight school" is not needed.  Most commercial certificate holders also add the instrument, multi-engine, and instructor ratings as soon as they have the commercial certificate.

A commercial certificate holder is qualified to do charter flying, instruction, banner towing, pipeline/power line patrols, aerial photography, and light air freight flying, as well as any number of other jobs in aviation.  For most jobs in the USA, citizenship is a requirement.  So the immigration office is your starting point.

After a commercial pilot has amassed 1,500 hours, he or she can apply for the Air Transport Pilot certificate, which is really just an advanced instrument rating.  The ATP is a big help in advancing a pilot's career.

Airlines require an ATP, about 2,000 hours total flight time, a 4-year college degree, and a good background check.  Some people still argue that the college degree is not required, but that is just wishful thinking.  You must have a 4-year degree to fly for the airlines now.

It is a very competitive field, and only the very best will succeed.  Good luck!

  4. Hi: A commercial pilot is somebody that is allowed to fly for money.

An Airline transport rating is for people that fly for an airline.

You can get the commercial ticket as part of your license at school.

You get your private first, then after you have enough hours you can go for the commercial.

You will need a class I medical, seperate ground school and flight test.

You must also be 21 to get the commercial ticket.

The usual way to go is

    1) get your private ticket with night rating

    2) Add instrument endorsement

    3) Add multi engine

    4) Commercial with instrument

    5) Flight instructor ( this helps build your hours)

    6) ATP

Flight safety or another flight school can get you all the way to Airline transport rating or join the military and hope you qualify for flight training.

    best of luck

    russ

  5. Commerical Pilot is like an Airline pilot. American Airways ect.. Pilot. I'm in England and alot of the Pilots for British Airways are X RAF or in your country X USAF. So you could join the Air Force and you would get training for flying for free. Otherwise you need to join a school and pay a hugggggge amount of money to learn to become a pilot
