What is communism and who are communists?

im a 13 yr old boy so please dont make it complicated and hard for me to understand, i just dont understand it?

Communism was a started by a man named Karl Marx who wrote a book that basically said that the people should be in charge of everything, that religion was opium to the people and everyone should live and work for the state because the state will never die.

When the Russian people had their revolution and killed off all the royalty in 1917(the Tsar was head of state at not doing a good job) the people who had control of the military made eveyone else accept their new government or they were killed. Anyone that had any opposition to them were killed off or sent to Siberia, a cold hostile country were most died laboring in camps.Millions of people were killed during their reign.

Because they had the military they conquered many other countries in Europe and Asia and one small country called Cuba off the Florida coast. Some African nations are communist too, although nowadays most are enslaved by Moslem regimes.

Basically in a communist country you can't do anything without government permission, you can't just hop in your car and drive without paperwork that allows you to do so, you can't go to Church on Sundays or say I don't like the leader of the government without ending up in jail. All the newspaper and tv news is controlled by the government. Food is doled out there, you had to stand in line for hours.

Right now, the only real communist countres are China and a few smaller countries like Cuba, Vietnam, Cambodia in that area of China. (Cuba was part of the old USSR, Castro who was their leader couldn't let go of the old ways even when the communists were overthrown in Russia).

For those who think that Marx created communism, they should read Plato's REPUBLIC, written eons before Marx.

For those who think that Marx created Communism, they should study the social philosophy of Jesus Christ.

For those who think that Marx created Communism, they should read Thomas More's UTOPIA, written during the reign of Henry VIII.

There is no classical communism operating today, only abberations of it.  Marxism is not classical, Leninism is not Classical, Maoism is not either, they are all twisted and distorted to meet certain needs.

To the person who said it's what Hitler did, you are completely wrong. Hilter came to power in part because he opposed communism. Germany wanted to avoid a communist style of gov't and Hitler exploited that fear.

Communism came to be in Europe due to the inequalities created by capitalist and industialized countries. Communism is a style of government that  is essentially, in it's purest form, equal in every sense of the word. It bases itself on a classless society, and a collectivized or federally ran economy. That's the very basics of it.

Who are communists? Well communism was founded by a man named Karl Marx and is probably most famous in Russia and Eastern Europe. But that does not make them all communists.

Today, communism still exists. Cuba is a communist state. Despite the reputation it has, it is the only country that has 100% literacy among it's people. A true communist state has yet to be acheived.

Communist Government's principle is just like poster's above me - "Everyone does what they can, and take what they need." (in my own words). But, in real world that never works. You probably know this, you never want to do more work than you have to, right? But you always need (or want) more stuff than others.  So that is why communism will never work.

In addition, most communist countries ban books, music, anything that says bad thing about communists. People who do it are put in jail, or killed.

I'm a communist and basically workers rule, the way it should be. Say a big sky scraper, you get the fat cats at the top who pay cleaners to do the work. If the cleaners went on strike would the fat cat at the top of the skyscraper do it? no.

we make them there money and basically we rule.

definition of communism:

A classless, stateless society, where supposedly the working classes (the proletariate) replace the upper classes the , where everyone is supposedly equal, with no government or class system.Communists sought an end to to capitalism, and what they viewed as an exploitation of the working classes.The trouble is with communism is it almost always ends with rather than everybody being equal, ends with 'some being more equal than others' dictatorships and lusts for power.

Read George Orwells Animal Farm, a very good story about everyone being equal 'but some are more equal than others.' power struggles and dictatorships.

communism is when the government you know the people who make the laws and stuff are in charge of EVERYTHING. like everything, what you watch on tv you name it.

communists are people who believe in that political party, meaning they agree in what they're doing for their country

also, you can't chose what job you want and in most you can't leave the country as you please.
