What is concidered a Civil charge?

I'm out of town and a police officer came by my house to drop off some thing and they would only hand it to me...and the sheriff department wont tell me anything..I havent done anything illegal...what could it be??

  1. It could be over a loan or any action not considered a criminal offense.


  2. Two  common reasons for civil subpoenas are traffic accidents, or a past due loan.

    If you are not involved in either of those, it could mean you are a witness to some other action.
