  1. Typically what people call a classical education these days would be more correctly called "neo-classical." I'm no expert, but it typically involves studying Latin and/ or Greek as classical languages. Subjects like Logic and Rhetoric are often studied as well.

    Three of the popular classical style guides used by homeschoolers are "The Well Trained Mind," "Latin Centred Curriculum" and "Teaching the Trivium." I've only read The Well Trained Mind and intend to use their method (more or less) to homeschool my kids because the trivium makes sense as far as child development goes, I like the thorough, methodical style for teaching subjects and the focus on literacy and learning to think.
