I consider a relationship like a contract. The partners set up "rules" and "conditions" and when these are broken or violated, problems arise which lead to breakups. It is whatever the two decide to define as cheating.

Even swingers have these. Like they may consider "enjoying" others only together but consider it cheating if one partner does it alone. Or a woman that can "enjoy" other women all she wants but not men.
