What is the best book that tells the facts of his life without bias, either way? What is considered the most comprehensive resource? Thanks!

How about one written by the Desert Fox himself?? "Rommel and His Art of War" was written by Erwin Rommel and the description says:

"Carries the reader from the Alps in WWI to North Africa in WWII .

Another one he wrote is called "Infantry Attacks "

Wow! Great question. I'd refer you to his own - his diaries compiled by his son - those sorts. All have biases, but he was his own harshest critic. His son's name was Rolf.

Billy - in seeing your question re: Jesse James, I would suggest checking with the reference section at the closest, large University near you. Reference Librarians are an invaluable, often overlooked resource in this Internet age.
