What is considered the most popular musical?

I am pretty sure it is Les Miserables, but it might be Phantom of the Opera. I'm not sure. My dad says its Phantom, but I say it's Les Mis. But I cant be for sure.

I think Les Mis is a classic. A newer very popular musical is Wicked. Popular indeed. =)

It is rather subjective, but I love Les Miz.  It is still the best in my mind.

MY favorite is Les Miz.  I did kind of a groupie thing.  I went to SF to see it the first time, then to Philly to see it again and finally saw it last live in Seattle.

I don't know about you, but I've always been a fan of Seussical. But I think that The lion King might be quite the contender for most popular! =]

Out of those two, Phantom of the Opera is so the most popular, but I think that of all Broadway musicals Cats, My Fair Lady and The Sound of Music are the most popular.

The most popular opera, is neither Les Miserables or Phantom of the Opera. The most popular opera is The Marriage of Figaro.  

This opera was composed by Mozart and admired by many opera lovers and non-opera lovers.
