Neither is cool.  But pipes smell better.  Most cigar smokers are obnoxious and the smoke smells like c**p.

Pipe is more elegant and can smell so much nicer than a cigar. A cigar is just a big cigarette.

I say a cigar the only way your going to make a pipe look cool is if your over 50 smoking on a yacht.  It seems to me that smoking out of a pipe is a little more work then just lighting up a cigar. Good luck with that!

A pipe. It's not old fashioned but more uncommon these days as is cigarette smoking in public.  A pipe smoker, to me, implies and conveys sophistication, intelligence and an even temper. The halcyon days for pipes were after WWII to the late 1970s.  And , in most cases, pipe smoke smells considerably better than cigar smoke. The world's greatest detective, Sherlock Holmes, smoked a pipe. He was cool although fictitious.

I smoke both - a cigar is more common.  If you are looking for a cool factor (which I don't comprehend), a lot of celebrities including rappers smoke cigars.
