I went to an optometrist and they told me that I have this and that I need special contacts to let my corneas breathe. Do I need to worry about this?

  1. This sounds like a cousin of Fuch's dystrophy, which is an abnormality of the bottom of the five cell layers of the cornea.  But the matter is of sufficient importance to warrant a detailed conversation with an ophthalmologist.
