What is costa rica like?

Hello Hello, nice to hear your class is adventuring to the dense rain forest region of Costa Rica.

It is a bio-diverse heaven, in my opinion. You are going to witness wildlife like you have never seen before. Pizotes are a part of the racoon family and too cute. There are thousands of species of plant life and the Osa Peninsula hosts 0.6% of the worlds bio-diversity! There are about 850 species of birds and about 200 mammals, and Costa Rica is known to have the most varieties of snakes in the world! You can start your studying by visiting here.

There are many different types of forests located in this small country, including dry forests in the Northern Pacific Region of Guanacaste, Rain Forests throughout the country, temperate pine forests, and Cloud Forests up in the mountainous highlands in places like Monteverde. look up http://www.monteverdeinfo.net/ to find info on cloud forests and what makes them so unique!

You are going to have so much fun, but be prepared to get wet. Extra socks and a good rainjacket are a must!

when would that be... if its the rainy season, extra clothes. if its like now, the dry season, what ever makes you happy. also what are the plans... beach, mountains, city

Bring clothes for all kinds of weather. The weather here is very unstable, it could rain in the morning and the be sunny in the afternoon. Mosquito spray is a must have and of course sun block, because the sun in the tropics is dangerous without protection.

If you like nature, Costa Rica is the place for you. We have 4 to 6 percent of the world's biodiversity. There're also clubs and night-life, if you no what I mean. Anyway, have fun! Are you going to the Pacific or the Caribbean coast? I recommend Caribbean, either way it's a great country.
