What is cradles cap? can my 3 year old get it?

I was brushing my 3 year old daughters long hair and braiding it when i noticed a patch of darker skin. Its like old dried on flaked skin that is like dark beige. I was trying to comb it off, i guess i will have to work it out more in the bath..... My question is, is it cradles cap? and what exactly is that and how is it caused?? wondering if i need to scrub her head more, rinse it better, blow dry her hair....? I have no clue!

Put some lotion on it

Cradle cap is like dry skin on the scalp. I think that putting some moisturizing gel or lotion on it will help. I'm not sure, though.

My daughter is almost 3 and she has had cradle cap a few times.  My doctor gave me a perscripton shampoo that i used and it took it away in a couple days. I hope this helps

My newphew will be 3 in sept. and he has it, my sister asked her dr. about it and he told here that it's common and just to but some baby oil on it and use a baby brush to get it off. He also said that and can sometimes be caused bu not washing all the shampoo out of their hair.  I hope this helps!!!

Just make sure its not ringworm on the scalp very common at this age!
