  4. the chalk is used to prevent miscuing.i recommend that you use chalk every after shot you make.especially when you are about to shoot th cue ball with english(or top/left/right spin), or when you are drawing the cue ball.

  7. Simply put; without chalk on your cue, the cue can (probably will) slip and you'll blow the shot.
