It's shared beliefs, values and meanings in a society.

How is it important? Well, in order for society to function, it needs some sort of culture.  Without it, groups would collapse, no supporting ideas or rules to help construct the system.  Also, it helps society's financially.  For example, everything such as art, music or theater bring profit to businesses.

You know when get up, you have a wash and get all ready for the world out there, and this says alot about you as a person, plus it sets the stage for what you believe about your self as well. You only know who you are when people tell you, oh your a good guy, you know, hes a good guy. **** I must be a good guy. Now draw a picture in your head about a society waking up and presenting itself to the world. Its the same as you waking up. If the society waking up to the world doenst give a **** well this is what the world see's that society as. So therfore culture is a big issue to sho the world who we are as a mass scale are about because we are who we are.Our dress,beliefs,character,buildings,our home, this is our culture. this is how we maintain our integrity to our own country, to our people to the world. Now if you wake up and you cant face the world you arnt in the culture because you cant be with them.I hope this gives you a way at looking at it.
