What is currently the best LCD or Plasma TV on the market that is under $1500?

I am looking to buy a new Plasma or LCD TV for my apartment, however in looking at reviews everyone gives almost all LCD TVs 4-5 stars, which is not really that accurate as they cannot all be 4-5 stars. I am looking for a TV between 40"-50".

The one I am beginning to consider is this one 42" Philips LCD 1080p HDTV w/ 120Hz Natural Motion 42PFL7403D/27 . I found it for $1300 at sam's club. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I've got thoughts. DON"T BUY THE PHILLIPS. It is pure c**p.

Most of these are excellent tv's. Forget about the Phillips and Insignia.
