What is d2 on a guitar?

Ive been trying to play some songs I like and d2 keeps popping up and its in none of my cord books....I cant even find it online....thanks

D sus 2. it means D major, but take out the F# and play E

or it could be D add 2, but that's usually written as add 9. its the same as sus 2, but the 3rd (F#) is also in the chord.

Second note of the D scale = E.

Play a standard D in first position... you know..  xx0232    and lift your 2nd finger  leaving  xx0230
