  1. Write to the Medical Director of your nearest Psychiatric Hospital, say you are writing a book and could you ask him your questions and have a look around. That's what writers do, they don't ask questions on Yahoo Answers. That's called writing a book without getting out of your chair!!!!

  2. Employees have same terms & conditions as everyone else in Government employment. 37.5 hours a week or part time 18.5

different numbers of staff according to a patient / staff ratio.

Inpatients have same rights as patients in any other hospital and have freedom to come and go as they please.

  3. I believe the current politically correct term is ; Psychiatric unit

  4. its very, very, very hard work for the staff.  I couldn't do it

  5. psychiatric  hospital, and mostly grim, and mostly for the patients.

Have been in one as a patient, and visited quite a few seeing someone, and often the staff are ill trained, and more often or not, not interested in what they are doing. They are there to contain people, administer drugs, and a little bit of therapy, but have now seen both sides of the coin i can safely say i wouldn't never go back

i saw such laziness on behalf of the staff, and lack of care, and testify that people who sadly end up in these places, often its because they have alcohol/drug problems, plus mental health issues.

If a person is sectioned, they are not allowed out, but if a volutary patient they can come and go, but the system really sucks.
