What is dassia like in corfu in early september?

Hi!! Early September in Corfu is "chancy", more like a lucky dip, so to speak.

From late Sept., through October, when i was in Corfu we had very bad storms that lasted for 4 days solid with almost black out conditions.

If a storm gets trapped between the chanel that runs between  Corfu and Albania that `s what happens, because it cannot rise out until the wind and current changes. Then to add to our mysery we got caught in an earthequake, 22miles away in mainland Greece and we got the edge of it, and it was a 5,point 8 shock. It was awesome when the building  started shaking and us 4

floors up at 6o/c in the morning. Luckily the airport had its own large generators therefore we able to gataway on time at 9am,

kerkira is nice in September. dassia is good for strategic position in island in order to visit all the beaches. but it is not nice village .

Kalami, is a much better bet.

It is not far from Kassiopi, and is quiet, with a decent pebble beach, with some lovely little Tavernas!

Dassia, unfortunately has nothing going for it!

Being a Corfiot I will have to disagree with most of what  has already been posted here.

Dassia is a very lively place mostly for the family vacationers, with many eating places and bars.

The beach is nice even though is a little difficult to find ways to it.

Early September is still lively and there is always the advantage to use the local bus to get to town for a walk around.

It doesn't have a very good beach for starters.  Early September the temperature will be very nice, not too hot or cold.  Take a light jacket for the evenings though as it can get damp and therefore feel chilly.  It's about a half hours ride from the airport.  Plenty of bars and places to eat.  Check out Aries taverna in Gouvia which is very near.

weather should be ok, remember weather last year was horendous everywhere have a look on the corfu website to see what average temps are for sept, we went july august last year and it was a heatwave, the greek island are usually ok for september tho

Dassia is a small  village takes about two hours from he airport to get to . Has a few shops hotels beach OK , weather could have a mixture of sun and rain.
