  1. Dear friend,

The basic function of the bothis the same but Inverter has got a larger back up, whereas Home UPS has a back up for comperatively a shorter period.

  2. An inverter is simply a device that converts DC (direct current) voltages into AC (alternating current) voltages. Typically these are sold as something you can connect to your car and then plug household current devices into. They are normally rated in WATTS, which is a figure that a user needs to pay attention to since you don't want to exceed the rated capability of the unit.

A UPS (Un-interuptable Power Supply) on the other hand is a specialized device; it includes a battery(s) and an inverter inside to ensure that devices can continue to be powered if the household AC power goes out. These are commonly used for computers to protect them from blackouts; in some cases they can be configured so that the computer can do a proper shutdown when the UPS kicks in.

A UPS can also be used for other devices too; I have one connected to my home theatre setup; they often have more robust voltage regulation and filtering compared to normal surge-supression power strips.

  3. A UPS is exactly what it stands for an Uninterruptible  Power Supply, a UPS has a Gel Cell battery that is constantly charged until there is a drop in voltage on the socket it is plugged into, the UPS senses this drop and provides inverter current at the proper voltage if the voltage drops to 0 the battery provides backup for a short period of time and often there is a available USB cable capable of shutting down a computer if it is attached.

An inverter simply an oscillator and a transformer allowing a consistent DC draw to be imperfectly changed to AC.

  4. difference in power supply to a machine .

  5. ups continuosly supply to system while inverter take fraction of time to supply. whith in that time the system will switched off
