  1. Good practice in a setting would be:

    - child protection policy

    - staff training

    - effective curriculum

    - how to manage allegations against staff

    - safe recruitment & selection of staff

    - whistleblowing

    - health and safety

    - monitor attendance

    - anti-bullying policy.

You should always listen carefully to a child & make accurate notes, using only the child's own words, do not ask the child any questions as this may be seen as leading the child.

It is important to inform the designated person within the setting asap & most importantly you must inform the child that he/she has done nothing wrong, however you cannot keep the information a secret so do not promise this to the child.

  2. Try this website they have loads of policies on there and I am sure there is a child protection one

    www.SchoolPolicy.co.uk

  3. Backgrouds checks and fingerprinting of all employees.  Electronic Access systems on all entrances/exits to the school.  Video cameras in all the classroom, that also have audio.  These are some of the major things that need to be done in preschools anywhere in this world.

  4. Look up Sure Start, Every Child Matters, local council site(go to chidlren and families section), NSPCC, Department of Health...and look at ur own settings policies and proceedure they should have a coordinator for Safe Guarding Children (thats what its called not child protection anymore)All the above should give you details on the law side of things and what practices should be doing.

  5. Protecting them from what exactly?

  6. Keeping them safe?
