personally I think it looks like a cloud formation. If she moved her head out of the way it would look nothing like a man standing there. Which is why he didnt see it when he took the picture.

The human mind has an extrodinary ability to find patterns in pictures which look like familiar things, like faces, animals, and people.

I thought it was just a dark haired man wearing a tight white jumper and a white flat cap walking away from the camera.  However, he would have to have very long legs to be that far above her head.

If you've seen the picture, you might notice that there are dark areas on the grass to the left of the girl which seem to be in the shape of letters.  Maybe the spaceman was writing a postcard home.

Google "Cumberland spaceman photo" and get lots of (mostly) useless info.  Some analysis was done that made some sense.  I believe some doctoring of the photo happened somewhere along the processing.  If not, the photographer surely would have noticed a man behind his daughter.

It looks like a picture of a girl with something juxtaposed behind her head.  There is nothing, save the anecdote of the photographer, to suggest anything unusual is going on in the photograph.  If this is being presented as evidence as proof in extraterrestrial visitation then there are some seriously demented and deluded people out there.
