  1. In the human body,it is a thin muscular layer in the chest cavity one purpose is to create the pump and suck action of the lungs

    A rubber(or other pliable material) device used to create  or regulate suction or pressure

    Also the  bellows looking thing that seals the engine to the outdrive,and keeps the water out

    In our body,the diaphragm is a thin muscle layer which seperate chest cavity and abdomen cavity. It's fuction is associated to respiration . In inspiration , it go down to expand the chest cavity   and go up again in expiration.
