  1. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) taken to reduce inflammation and as an analgesic reducing pain in conditions such as arthritis or acute injury. It can also be used to reduce menstrual pain, dysmenorrhea. The name is derived from its chemical name: 2-(2,6-dichloranilino) phenylacetic acid C14H11Cl 2 NO2. The diethyl derivative is proposed as a method of enhansing absorption through the skin.
