Why do I have to use "remember that" and not "remember how" in the following sentence?

The office where I work is on Boat Street; if you forget the address, just remember how it's the one painted blue.

  1. You want the person to remember the office is the one painted blue - not HOW the office was painted blue. How is referring to the actual process of painting. Hope that answers the question.

  2. you use remember that because how it is blue could infer that the house has feelings when it is an inanimate object.  remember that refers to the adjective blue, which would help you find the office.

  3. Its not telling you how to do something its telling you that..
