  1. Any shotgun that has an ejection port will be away from the face on the proper side. If you shoot a semi-auto on the wrong side you could get powder burns. A pump would be ok on the wrong side if you wait a split second and your break opens don't care which side since they go straight back

  2. The difference in a true left handed gun is that everything works opposite of the right. In over and under's the palm swell if any will be on the left instead of the right. The breach lever will work to the left instead of the right. In other gun the receiver is inverted but not all manufacturers reverse the safety. Ithaca. Browning and Remington have ambidextrous guns available. I hope this helps.

  3. It depends on the action. In a double, for instance, the opening lever may go "backwards." And with double triggers, the rear one is typically closer to the shooting hand.  But most importantly, a left-handed stock will have a smidgen of cast on, a right-handed one cast off. Since many shooters don't have their stocks fitted for them, and there's no cast at all, that is often a moot point.

  4. a left handed shotgun may have the ejection port on the left, but in the old bouble barrel shotguns and double rifles, it was the shape of the butt stock that made the difference

  5. There are a few makers of O/U shotguns who advertise left and right hand versions. This has to do with the stock bend and if dual triggers the arrangement of left or right lead trigger (trailing trigger being opposite) and (at least one) the direction of the lock release being manipulated by the right or left (strong hand) thumb.

  6. in most cases it has to do with which side it ejects the shells to.

Most guns eject the shells to the right, so put it on your right shoulder and it flys off into the field.  But a lefty, the shell would fly right in his/her face.

  7. The ejection port on shotguns and rifles eject the spent shell away from your face depending on if you are left or right handed and you use the right one for you of course. Do you shoot left or right handed ?

  8. Really only the side the ejector is on.

  9. The difference is in the ejection port, the safety, the action release and if your stock has any type of special modifications.  The shotgun will eject the shell away from your face, so if you shot with your right shoulder, the shell also goes to the right.  The safety is meant to be pushed in for the fire position, so if you are a lefty shooting a right handed gun, it will be opposite.  And the same for the action release, this will just change sides of the trigger guard.

  10. they just  r idiot

  11. the only difference is the way the action works, and which side the shell is ejected from

  12. Nothing really, just that the ejection port would be on the left side , also the cocking/charging handle (if autoloader)

The first true ambidextrous shotgun was the Ithaca Model 37, it eject from the bottom

  13. the ejection port...  on a right hand, it is on the right side, ejects thr shell away from you.... left hand is on the left side, for a righty, holding it, it kicks the shell toward you...
