from the creation point of view, PC and UDF are almost similar.

The difference is in instantiation of such features.

If you have a suite of features that you will transform in PC and UDF, instantiating the PC will result in adding to your current Catia tree exact the same features as original but instantiating a UDF will result in just one icon in Catia tree. In the geometry area you will have the same geometry!

In this manner, UDF is protecting the intelectual properties of your vision, the user will see only one icon and can not modify the contents (only if you allow him!)
