What is discontinued?

Merto PCS "discontinued" a lot of there phones. what does "discontinued" mean?

Discontinued basically means that it stopped, and it's not capable of processing any further.

They stopped offering them for sale.  A lot of times, the "discontinued" phones come with a "grandfather" clause, which means that "if you had one of the phones we discontinued before we stopped selling them, you can still use your old phone until you have to get a new contract with us".
