Her name was Dixy Lee Ray and her 'middle' name was Lee. This is actually a 'family name' from her mother's side ... when Dixy Lee was born, it was quite common to give girls the 'surname' of the mother as her middle name. I know this because I've met the woman ... she was the Governor of the State of Washington, and I went on a special 'tour' of the state capitol building and we got to talk to her ... it was a wonderful tour for the Camp Fire girls I was leading that day.
