i've seen the really long and drawn out answers, and i've seen the blunt answer (religious set of rules). can i get an answer some where between the two?

does it relate to only christianity or all religions?

does it include heaven and h**l?

and why on earth does yahoo think that my question can't be valid if it is less than 20 characters? (you don't have to answer that unless you want to, that's just my rant for the day)

  1. That's exaclty what it is... a system of principles or tenets or an established belief or principle. It refers to ALL religions. Any set of prinicples (like the 10 commandments) is considered dogma. It has nothing to do with Heaven and h**l, but rather the beliefs that a certain group of people in any religion believe.

  2. Dogma is a religious law that is founded on interpretation of religious scripture. It is the interpretation of religious scholars of the intent or wishes of the Deity that the religion is based on. All organized religions have dogma.
