  1. no you cant carry on with the pregnancy as the baby is atached to the fallopian tube.the doctor would have you in as soon as possible to have the baby removed as it is very bad for the woman if the baby grows and bursts her tube.my mum had this and her tube was so badly damaged from the pregnancy she had to have the tube removed.however she went on to have 2 more children.

  2. The fetus almost always needs to be removed. It's a pregnancy that forms in the fallopian tubes and can be extremely dangerous to the mother.

  3. No my friend died with an ectopic pregnancy two months on, its soo sad , she bled to death. If this is related to you get rid of it, its such a high risk of deaths in pregnancy, Its sooooo dangerous. Get t out, an ectopic pregnancy is when tje baby is in the fallopian tube or someplace other than yout womb, it still grows but in the wrong area so you can die, cus lets say imagine having the baby wihere your eggs are produced. And it grows until it cant fit, you strat getting pains and then ur getting told you have an ectopic pregnancy and are bleeding to death BIG NO NO

  4. Surprising answers from seven women so far.

First of all 'ectopic' means it's out of place, ie not in the womb, while it is true that the majority of ectopic pregnancies do occur in the fallopian tubes, there are occasions when it occurs outside the womb and fallopian tubes.

If it does occur in the fallopian tubes it is always removed.

There are also documented cases of such ectopic pregnancies resulting in a live birth, there was one in the news quite recently but I can't find it.

These of course are very rare, so the doctor would have an ultrasound scan carried out to determine the exact position of the pregnancy and then decide the best course.

  5. U can't carry on with the pregnancy ... it's could be very dangerous as it placed not in the womb but in the fellopian tube. It has to be removed of the mother could die.

It's very unfortunate it happens and it's no ones fault.

  6. very dangerous situation for the women they would need an operation fairly urgently, normally the tube is removed along with the fetus

  7. There are cases where the baby has survived, but I think this really depends on where the embryo has implanted.  If this relates to you ask for a 2nd or 3rd opinion and trawl the internet for doctors who have undertaken the care of women who's baby's have survived.

That way you can get 2 sides of the story and make the best decision.  Good luck x

  8. No the woman cannot carry on with the pregnancy because the developing foetus is trapped in the Fallopian tube the only answer is for the woman to have surgery to remove the foetus and the whole or part of the tube maybe the ovary too ( depends on the surgeons decision)   It is sad but needs to be done because of the very real danger to the woman's life if the pregnancy continues.

  9. Nope, if a mother  attempts to carry it full term, the mother can die.

It would need to be aborted by 10 weeks.

  10. Most of the time  ectopic pregnancy is suspected and diagnosed because the women will be in a lot of pain. It is not possible for a woman to carry a pregnancy anywhere except the uterus. ectopic pregnancy is not just a pregnancy in the tubes though this is the most common place because the egg is fertilized in the tubes and then moves to the uterus to implant. Sometimes a pregnancy and implant in the cervix which is also considered an ectopic pregnancy. Almost all of the time with ectopic pregnancy the embryo has already died, since most ectopic pregnancies get discovered before a heartbeat would show up anyway there's no way to really tell if the embryo is living or not because the sac can grow even when the embryo has died. An ectopic pregnancy has to be removed as soon as it's discovered because it could cause the tubes to rupture which would cause internal bleeding, loss of fertility and loss of the tube in addition to death of the woman. There is no way to carry a pregnancy in the tube the tube is very thin thinner than a strand of hair.
