I am preparing myself to go to the dentist. One of the things I am going to need to have done, is fixing my molar teeth. I think almost all of them are broken. At least 5 or 6 of them are broken beyond repair, I mean the whole molar Is pretty much gone. What procedure can be done to fix this? Is my only option going to be dentures? Or implants? Or can they do a bridge?

  1. Just get yourself to a dentist asap.  AND don't worry they will be able to save whatever they can.  They have wonderful techniques now to save teeth and you will probably have a root canal (doesn't hurt)  and a crown put on it.  They would put a post in to support the crown.  I think they only suggest dentures if the situation is really grave.  Gingivitis, the terrible infection of the gums sometimes necessitates the need to pull teeth and replace them with dentures.  Expediency is the key now so make that appointment and don't worry they have seen way worse.  Good luck.

  2. It depends on the placement of the teeth. You only need 4 or 5 teeth to act as anchors but they have to be in the right spot.  Bridges are costly and fragile.  Implants are also costly, but last longer and they are more likely to be covered by insurance.  Dentures can be very expensive and should be a last resort.  Also, they can become lost, loose, or you could choke on them in the event of an accident.  Go see your dentist and he or she will be able to let you know your options.  Most dentists prefer to keep as many natural teeth as possible.
