  1. It's similar to gyros or shawarma.  A meatloaf type mixture is made from highly seaoned finely ground meat (chicken or lamb).  It's cooked slowly rotated over heat .  Then it's sliced and served in a pita with sauces and veggies, or on a plate with sides.

Gyros or shawarma are more common in the U.S.  Doner kebab is more common in Europe.

  2. Döner kebab (Turkish döner kebap, literally "turning roast"), is a Turkish dish made of meat cooked on a vertical spit and sliced off to order. The meat may be lamb, mutton, beef, goat, or chicken.

  3. Great answers here already! Great Food!

In England there are more Doner Kebab take Away places than Fish and Chip shops! Here in Spain we only seem to get Dona Kebap. This is probably the most healthiest way to eat meat! The juices and fat run off the meat as it is held vertically in front of the heat source! You can add sources if you like!

  4. It's meat packed together on a big skewer, roasted over a flame.  It's usually lamb I think.

  5. Slices of marinated lamb or chicken on a tall vertical spit and grilled as it slowly turns. The cooked parts of the cone of meat are cut in very thin slices by a huge sword-like knife, and then either arranged on a plate with salad, rice or flat pide (pitta) bread or put into a pita bread (like a sandwich)
