  1. Double occupancy means for (2) people.  If the hotel advertises $99 double occupancy means that you will pay $99 whether for one or for two people.  Obviously, if there were a 3rd person, then there would be an extra charge.  Take into consideration though that there will be other charges besides the room rate such as tax, franchise fees, etc.  To find out the exact total cost contact the hotel.

  2. Double occupance means there are two beds in the room.  Just take the room.  You can always lounge on one and sleep in the other.

  3. Ussualy that would only apply to package deals, or all inclusives.

Typically, a hotel doesnt change its rates based on how many people are in the room. If the hotel rates is 99$, it should be the same for one or 2 people.

But in your case, if it asid BASED on double occupency. Then thats just another sneaky way of making a 200$ room, look like it might cost 99$.

  4. I just asked a friend who works with hotels and he says that any rate "based on double occupancy" means there has to be at least 2 people , each paying the rate they ask ($99 in your case)...

Now... we are in Mexico so it might be different where you are going...

    Have a great trip!
